“Thank you to End Plastic Soup!” was the cry at the recent Rotary International Convention in Houston, USA as EPS shared its House of Friendship booth with the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group.  On display was ESRAG’s new Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling program, End Plastic Soup’s famous Hat and iconic logo, and Poulsbo Rotary Club’s “Let’s Talk Trash!” banner.

We know that plastic products are generally very useful, but the drawback is the long time needed to destroy them: maybe some 450 years for a bottle.

The first Saturday of June is the EndPlasticSoup Action Day worldwide and this year it will be the 5th time that this Action Day takes place. This weekend coincides with the Rotary International Convention this year from June 4-8 in Houston, and with the UN World Environment Day.

Can’t make the convention in-person? Join virtually for $50 when you register and pay between 5-10 May, or $75 from 12:00 a.m. (Chicago-time) 11 May through 31 August 2022. Registration fees will be charged in U.S. currency only.

Plastic Free Seas is a Hong Kong based environmental charity focused on changing the way we all view and use plastics in society today, through education and action campaigns.

History was made this month as the Italian Senate of the Republic approved The Salvamare Law, allowing fishermen to bring in plastics accidentally caught in their nets and deposit it in designated depots ashore.
